Patna : The Covid-19 cases recorded so far in Bihar rose to 2,48,668 on December 23, 2020, afternoon, as 640 more persons including 257 from Patna, 73 from Aurangabad, 30 from Muzaffarpur, and 22 from Nawada tested positive to the pandemic on December 22, 2020.
According to State Health Department data, 18 persons from Saran, 17 from Begusarai, 15 each from Nalanda, Madhubani, Sitamarhi, and Siwan, 11 each from East Champaran, Purnia, and Kaimur, 10 each from Bhojpur and Darbhanga, 9 each from Saharsa and Bhagalpur, 8 each from Samastipur, Jehanabad, and Katihar, 7 each from Gaya and Supaul, 6 each from Vaishali, West Champaran, Banka, Buxar, and Kishanganj, and 5 from Rotas, also tested positive to Covid-19 on December 22, 2020.
Of the 2,48,668 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in Bihar, a total of 2,42,244 patients have been declared cured including 309 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) being 97.42%. The number of active cases in Bihar was 5,056 on December 23, 2020. Bihar has tested 1,74,53,751 samples so far including 1,16,883 samples on December 22, 2020.
The Covid-19 toll jumped to 1,367 in Bihar on December 23, 2020, with 5 new deaths being recorded in the state including 4 in Patna and 1 in Siwan.The toll climbed to 367 in Patna on December 23, 2020.
