New Delhi : A total of 23,950 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally of cases recorded so far in ghe country to 1,00,99,066 in the country at 8 am on December 23, 2020. On the other hand, 26,895 Covid-19 patients were declared cured/ discharged in last 24 hours taking the tally to 96,63,382 on December 23, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases ( 2,89,240) by a massive margin of 93,74,142.
The active cases account for only 2.86% of the total Covid cases recorded so far in the country, a drop of 3,278 cases in last 24 hours, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
Of the 1,00,99,066 Covid-19 cases recorded in the country till date, altogether 96,63,382 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 95.69%. India has tested 16,42,68,721 samples so far including 10,98,164 samples on December 22, 2020.
The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,46,444 in India on December 23, 2020, with 333 new deaths being recorded in the country including 75 in Maharashtra, 38 in West Bengal, 27 in Kerala, 25 in Delhi, 18 in Punjab, 17 in Tamilnadu, 13 in Karnataka, 13 in Uttarakhand, 13 in Chhattisgarh, 12 in Uttar Pradesh, 12 in Madhya Pradesh, 10 in Haryana, 8 in Rajasthan, 7 in Gujarat, 4 in Andhra Pradesh, 4 in Bihar, and 3 in Jharkhand. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.45% in the country on December 23, 2020. India had recorded 301 new deaths on December 22, 2020.
