New Delhi : Altogether 23,067 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally of cases recorded so far to 1,01,46,845 at 8 am on December 25, 2020. On the other hand, 24,661 Covid-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in the country in last 24 hours taking the tally to 97,17,834 on December 25, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (2,81,919) by a stupendous margin of 94,35,915. The number of active cases in India account for only 2.78% of the total cases, a drop of 1,930 cases in last 24 hours.

Of the 1,01,46,845 Covid-19 cases recorded in the country so far, a total of 97,17,834 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 95.77%. India has tested 16,63,05,762 samples till date including 9,97,396 samples on December 24, 2020.

The Covid-19 toll jumped to 1,47,092 on December 25, 2020, with 336 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 89 in Maharashtra, 37 in Delhi, 32 in West Bengal, 22 in Uttar Pradesh, 22 in Kerala, 22 in Chhattisgarh, 17 in Punjab, 12 in Tamilnadu, 11 in Uttarakhand, 10 in Madhya Pradesh, 8 in Rajasthan, 8 in Gujarat, 7 in J&K,  7 in Haryana, 4 in Andhra Pradesh, 3 in Bihar, 2 in Jharkhand, and 1 in Karnataka. The Case Fatality Rate remained pegged at 1.45% in the country on December 25, 2020. India had recorded 312 new deaths on December 24, 2020.
