New Delhi : Only 22,065 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India during last 24 hours taking the tally of cases recorded so far in the country to 99,06,165 cases at 8 am on December 15, 2020. In sharp contrast, 34,477 Covid-19 patients were declared cured/discharged during last 24 hours taking the tally to 94,22,636 on December 15, 2020, exceeding the number of active cases (3,39,820) by a colossal margin of 90,82,816 on December 15. The number of active cases was only 3.43% of the total cases on December 15, a drop of 12,766 cases during last 24 hours.

Of the 99,06,165 cases Covid-19 cases recorded till date in the country, altogether 94,22,636 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 95.12%. India has tested 15,55,60,655 samples so far including 9,93,665 samples on December 14, 2020.

The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,43,709 in India on December 15, 2020, with 354 new deaths being recorded in the country during last 24 hours including 60 from Maharashtra, 60 from Delhi, 43 from West Bengal, 24 from Kerala, 21 from Punjab, 19 from Chhattisgarh, 16 from Haryana, 14 from Tamilnadu, 13 from Rajasthan, 12 from Himachal Pradesh, 11 from Uttar Pradesh, 11 from Gujarat, 10 from Karnataka, 8 from Madhya Pradesh, 6 from Uttarakhand, 4 from Bihar, 2 from Andhra Pradesh, and 1 from Jharkhand. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.45% in the country on December 15, 2020.  India had recorded 336 new deaths on December 14, 2020.
