New Delhi : The phenomenal increase in the number of Coronavirus (COVID-19) patients getting cured in India continues reaching 6,12,814 at 8 am on July 16, 2020, an increase of 20,783 during last 24 hours exceeding the number of active cases by 2,81,668. The number of active cases in the country stands at 3,31,146.
On the negative side, COVID-19 death toll in the country has climbed to 24,915 with 606 new deaths being reported from different parts of the country during last 24 hours including 233 from Maharashtra, 86 from Karnataka, 44 from Andhra Pradesh, 29 from UP, and 20 from West Bengal.
COVID-19 death toll break-up in India is : Maharashtra (10,928), Delhi (3,487), Tamilnadu (2,167), Gujarat (2,079), UP (1,012), West Bengal (1,000), Karnataka (928), MP (682), Rajasthan (530), Andhra Pradesh (452), Telengana (386), Haryana (319), Punjab (221), J&K (206), Bihar (180), Odisha (77), Uttarakhand (50), Assam (46), Jharkhand (38), Kerala (35), Puducherry (21), Chhattisgarh (20), Goa (18), Himachal Pradesh (11), Chandigarh (11), Arunachal Pradesh (3), Tripura (3), Meghalaya (2), Dadar & Nagar Haveli and Daman (2), and Ladakh (1).
As far COVID-19 patients getting cured goes, a total of 1,52,613 patients have been declared cured in Maharashtra followed by 1,02,310 in Tamilnadu, 95,699 in Delhi, 31,286 in Gujarat, 25,999 in Telengana, 25,743 in UP, and 20,680 in West Bengal.
In Bihar, State BJP President, his wife, and mother, all doctors, have tested positive to Coronaviruas. A Chief Secretary rank officer has also tested Corona positive.
