Patna : The Lok Sabha elections will be held in 7 phases with the first phase of polls scheduled for April 11, 2019, covering 91 parliamentary constituencies in 20 states, while the 2nd phase of polls will be held on April 18 covering 97 constituencies in 13 states and the 3rd on April 23, 2019, covering 115 constituencies in 14 states.

The 4th phase of polls will be held on April 29 covering 71 constituencies in 9 states and 5th phase on May 6, 2019, covering 51 constituencies in 7 states. The 6th phase of polls will be held on May 12 covering 59 constituencies in 7 states and 7th phase on May 19, 2019, covering 59 constituencies in 8 states. The poll results would be announced on May 23, 2019.

The polls will be held in 7 phase in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. In J&K, the polls will be held in 5 phase. Polls will be held in four phase in Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh (MP), Maharashtra, and Odisha. It will be held in three phase in Chhattisgarh and Assam. There will be two phase polls in four states : Karnataka, Manipur, Rajasthan, and Tripura.

Polls will be held in a single phase in 22 States/UTs. They are : Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Sikkim, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Uttrakhand, Andaman & Nicobar, DadarĀ  & Nagar, Daman & Diu, Lakshadweep, Delhi, Pondicherry, and Chandigarh.

With the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sunil Arora announcing the LS poll schedule on March 10, 2019, at a press conference, the Model Code of Conducts has come into force. Altogether 90 crore voters will excercise their franchise in the LS polls.
