Sitamarhi : Two residents of village Khoparahia in Sitamarhi district in North Bihar lost their lives while two dozen others were admitted to different hospitals on August 5, 2018, after attending a Shradha Bhoj at the village. Food poisoning are said to be the cause behind the incident.
The deceased were identified as Rameshwar Rai, 56, and Ram Ishwar Rai, 50, both residents of village Khoparahia. Sitamarhi Civil Surgeon (CS) Dr A K Srivastava along with a medical team is camping at the village. Most of those admitted to hare different hospital had developed diarrhoea and nausea symptoms, said the medical team.
Sitamarhi DM Dr Ranjeet Kumar Singh is monitoring the situation at the village and expressed his displeasure on seeing filth and heap of garbage at the village. The village falls under Parihar block.
