Ara : Two young men died in an accident near Chanda Mor under Koilwar police station on Ara-Chhapra main road in Bhojpur District on January 15, 2021, afternoon, when a speeding truck dashed the motorcycle they were riding from behind. The driver of the truck escaped with the vehicle after the accident.
Later, police recovered the bodies and brought them over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased were identified as Mohit Kumar, 22, son of Vinod Kumar, and Akash Kumar, 23, son of Abhay Prasad, of Rajapur under Koelwar police station. Irate villagers blocked the Ara-Chhapara main road paralysing the movement of vehicles. They burnt tyres and were raising slogans against the district administration. They were demanding Rs 10 lakh compensation for the family members of the deceased. The blockade was lifted after positive response from the police officials.
SHO, Koelwar police station, said that Mohit Kumar and Akash Kumar were going to a coaching centre at Koelwar from their houses at Rajapur on a motorcycle. When they reached near Chanda village under Koelwar police station, a speeding truck dashed the motorcycle from behind killing both of them on the spot. An FIR has been lodged with Koelwar police station in this connection and police are investigating the matter.
