Sitamarhi : District Education Officer (DEO), Sitamarhi, on August 20, 2018, placed under suspension 23 school teachers including two Headmasters in the district. This follows inspection of two Middle Schools at village Koeli by Sitamarhi DM Dr Ranjeet Kumar Singh on August 18, 2018.
Sitamarhi DM Ranjeet Kumar Singh had conducted surprise inspection of Boys and Girls Middle schools at village Koeli under Nanpur block on August 18, 2018, during working hours. At the Boys Middle School, the DM found majority of the teachers and students absent at the time of inspection and irregularities in execution of Mid-Day Meal (MDM) scheme. Headmaster Rajneeti Lal Rai was also suspended by an order of District Education Officer (DEO).
When the DM reached the Girls Middle School, the situation was surprising as all the thirteen teachers including Headmistress Anmola Kumari were found absent. All the 170 school students were marked present though very few students were present.
On the instructions of DM, Block Education Officer (BEO), Nanpur, has been served on a notice seeking explanation from him over the issue. The Mid – Day Meal staff have been transferred to Bairgania block.
