Patna : Police on July 19, 2018, arrested two out of the 9 named in FIR, in connection with the alleged honour killings of a 19 year old boy and a 16 year old girl at village Ghosi under Paras Bigha police station in Jehanabad district on July 18 night.

The arrested persons happen to be cousins of the girl, according to Jehanabad SP Manish, a 2013 batch IPS officer. The SP said that the cause of their death would be clear once the post-mortem report arrives. The SP, however, said that injury marks were found on both the bodies. The boy’s side has alleged both of them were killed, he said.

The arrested persons were identified as Shintu and Mintu and belong to the same village Ghosi. The FIR was lodged by the boy’s uncle claiming it was a case of honour killing.
