Patna : The 1st test between West Indis (WI) and Sri Lanka (SL) at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua, ended in a thrilling draw on March 25, 2021, late night, with Nkrumah Bonner scoring an unbeaten 113 in 274 balls with 13 fours and 1 six and Kyle Mayers scoring 52 in 113 balls with 5 fours. Bonner and Mayers added 105 runs for the 3rd wicket saving the match for WI. Mayers and Bonner had also starred in WI’s memorable victory over Bangladesh in 1st test recently. WI had won the toss and opted to bowl.
Set a target of 375 runs, WI scored 236/4 in 100 overs.Jason Holder remained unbeaten on 18. Nkrumah Bonner, who had scored 31 runs in first innings, was named Player Of The Match for his match saving unbeaten ton. Mayers had scored 45 runs in first innings.

SL, however, scored a massive 476 runs in 149.5 in their 2nd innings with debutant Pathum Nissanka scoring scoring 103 in 252 balls with 6 fours and Niroshan Dickwella (wk) scoring 96 runs in 163 balls with 8 fours. Oshada Fernando scored 91 runs in 149 balls with 11 fours. Kemar Roach and Rahkeem Cornwall took three wickets each while Kyle Mayers took two wickets.
