Patna : The COVID-19 cases recorded so far in Bihar rose to 2,10,389 on October 23, 2020, afternoon, as 1,093 more persons including 229 from Patna, 96 from Muzaffarpur, 78 from Nalanda, 49 from Purnia, 44 from Gopalganj, and 42 from Aurangabad, tested positive to it on October 22, 2020.

According to State Health Department figure, 37 persons from Jehanabad, 36 from Supaul, 33 from Nawada, 32 from Madhubani, 31 from Bhagalpur, 30 from Gaya, 30 from Jamui, 30 from Kishanganj, 23 from East Champaran, 23 from Munger, 20 from Araria, and 18 from West Champaran also tested positive to COVID-19 on October 22, 2020.

Bihar Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi also tested COVID-19 positive on October 22, 2020. But, Bihar Governor Fagu Chauhan has been declared cured. The Governor tested negative on October 22, 2020. Governor Chauhan had tested positive on October 9, 2020, and was under home quarantine at Raj Bhavan..

Of the 2,10,389 COVID-19 cases recorded so far in Bihar, altogether 1,98,437 patients have been declared cured including 1,244 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 94.32%. The State has tested 98,18,199 samples so far including 1,41,869 samples on October 22, 2020.

The COVID-19 toll jumped to 1,034 in Bihar on October 23, 2020, with 8 new deaths being reported in the state during last 24 hours including 2 from Patna, and one each from Nalanda, Muzaffarpur, Saran, Purnia, Jehanabad, and Purnia. The toll increased to 254 in Patna on October 23, 2020. The number of active cases was 10,917 in the state on October 23.
