New Delhi : The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patient in India improved to 96.12% at 8 am on January 2, 2021. India has recorded 1,03,05,788 Covid-19 patients so far of which 99,06,387 patients have been declared cured/ discharged with the RR being 96.12%.

India recorded 19,079 new Covid-19 patients in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,03,05,788 cases on January 2, 2021. On the other hand, 22.926 Covid-19 patiengts were declared cured in last 24 hours taking the tally to 99,06,387 on January 2, 2021. The active cases ( 2,50,183) accounted for just 2.43 of the total cases cases recorded so far in the country on January 2, 2021, a drop of 4,071 cases i last 24 hours.

The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,49,218 in India on January 2, 2021, with 224 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 59 in Maharashtra, 26 in West Bengal, 23 in Kerala, 21 in Delhi, 15 in Uttar Pradesh, 13 in Tamilnadu, 12 in Madhya Pradesh, 8 in Punjab, 6 in Karnataka, 6 in Haryana, 6 in Uttarakhand, 4 in Rajasthan, 4 in Chhattisgarh, 3 in Bihar, 3 in Gujarat, 1 in J&K, and 1 in Manipur. The Case Fatality Rate remained pegged at 1.45% in the country on January 2, 2021. India had recorded 256 new deaths on January 1, 2021.
