Buxar : Sleuth of Prohibition & Excise Department, Buxar, on a tip off, seized 18 cartons of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and a Pick-Up van from near Chausa Post in Buxar District in South Bihar on January 11, 2021, late evening, though the liquor smugglers escaped from the scene. An FIR has been lodged with the police in this connection and police are conducting raids to arrest the liquor smugglers.
Excise Superintenden, Buxar, Devendra Prasad, said that he got information that a big consignment of IMFL was being smuggled from Uttar Pradesh after which he with the help of Buxar police started vehicle checking drive near Chausa Post. In the meantime, a Pick-Up van came from Uttar Pradesh. Police stopped it and started checking the vehicle. Seeing police, the driver escaped from the scene with the key of the vehicle leaving the vehicle behind. Police recovered 864 bottles of IMFL packed in 18 cartons.
