Patna : A total of 170 more persons including 74 from Patna, 11 from Gaya, 10 from Araria, 9 from West Champaran, 8 from Bhagalpur, 6 from Begusarai, 5 each from Katihar, Muzaffarpur, and Supaul, and 3 each from Darbhanga, Jehanabad, Rohtas, and Vaishali, tested positive for COVId-19  on March 23, 2021, taking the the number of cases recorded so far in Bihar to 2,63,940 on March 24, 2021.

The active cases surged to 726 in Bihar including 352 in Patna on March 24, 2021, from 623 cases on March 23, 2021. Bihar has so far tested 2,33,22,368 samples including 56,232 samples on March 23, 2021. Of the 2,63,940 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in Bihar, altogether 2,61,648 patients have been declared cured including 65 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) further dropping to 99.3% on March 24, 2021, from 99.17% on March 23, 2021.

The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,565 in Bihar on March 24, 2021, with 2 new deaths being recorded in Patna in last 24 hours. With it, the toll increased to 454 in Patna on March 24.
