17 yr old Young stuns Sindhu in 2nd round of Danisa Denmark Open

Patna : World No 19 A N Se Young, 17, South Korea, stunned reigning World Champion and World No 6 P V Sindhu, 24, India, in straight games in the second round of Danisa Denmark Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 750 event, at Odense, Denmark, on October 17, 2019. Young upset Sindhu 21-17, 21-17 in 40 minutes at Odense Sportspark, Denmark, to enter the QFs.

The South Korean won 42 rallies in the match to 31 by Sindhu, who had made early exit in both China Open ( 2nd round) and Korea Open ( 1st round) too. Both the players won 6 consecutive points each in the match. It was the first meeting between the two players.

World No 4 Nozomi Okuhara, 24, Japan, the 3rd seed, beat World No 13 Han Yue, 19, China, 21-10, 21-10 in 34 minutes in second round. Okuhara, the 2017 World Champion, won 42 rallies in the match to 20 by Han Yue. She won 9 consecutive points in the match to 4 by the Chinese. It was first meeting between the two players.
