New Delhi : A total of 16,946 Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,05,12,093 at 8 am on January 14, 2021. On the other hand, 17,652 Covid-19 patients were declared cured/ discharged in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,01,46,763 on January 14, 2021, exceeding the number of active cases ( 2,13,603) by a huge margin of 99,33,160. The active cases accounted for just 2.03% of the total cases (1,05,12,093) in India on January 14, 2021, a drop of 904 cases in last 24 hours.

Of the 1,05,12,093 Covid-19 cases recorded in India, altogether 1,01,46,763 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 96.52% on January 14, 2021. India has tested 18,42,32,305 samples so far including 7,43,191 samples on January 13, 2021.

The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,51,727 in India on January 14, 2021, with 198 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 70 in Maharashtra, 26 in Kerala, 18 in West Bengal, 15 in Uttar Pradesh, 11 in Delhi, 10 in Chhattisgarh, 7 in Punjab, 6 in Madhya Pradesh,  6 in Tamilnadu, 4 in Gujarat, 4 in Uttarakhand,  3 in Rajasthan, 3 in Karnataka, 2 in Bihar, 2 in Haryana, and 1 in Andhra Pradesh. India had recorded 202 new deaths on January 13, 202, according to Union Health Ministry figure.

COVID-19 death toll in India on January 14, 2021, was : Maharashtra (50,221, Tamilnadu (12,242), Karnataka (12,152), Delhi (10,718), Andhra Pradesh (7,134), Uttar Pradesh (8,529), West Bengal (9,993), Gujarat (4,354), Madhya Pradesh (3,732), Rajasthan (2,742),  Punjab (5,463), Telengana (1,572), J&K (1,912), Haryana (2,966), Bihar (1,445), Odisha (1,895), Jharkhand (1,048), Assam (1,065), Uttarakhand (1,593), Kerala (3,373), Chhattisgarh (3,527), Puducherry (639), Goa (750), Tripura (389), Chandigarh (329), Andaman & Nicobar (62), Himachal Pradesh (963), Ladakh (128), Manipur (365), Nagaland (86), Meghalaya (144), Arunachal Pradesh (56), Sikkim (129), Mizoram (9), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2).
