New Delhi : New Covid-19 cases far exceeded the recoveries in India in last 24 hours. A total of 16,738 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,10,46,914 cases in the country at 8 am on February 25, 2021. In sharp contrast, only 11,799 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,07,38,501 on February 25, 2021. The active cases ( 1,51,708) accounted for 1.37% of the total cases ( 1,10,46,914) on February 25, 2021, an increase of 4,801 cases in last 24 hours.

Of the 1,10,46,914 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in India, a total of 1,07,38,501 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) dropping to 97.21 % on February 25, 2021, from 97.25% on February 24, 2021. India has tested 21,38,29,658 samples so far includkng 7,93,383 samples on February 24, 2021. Meanwhile, 1,26,71,163 Corona Warriors have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India so far including 5,03,947 beneficiaries on February 24, 2021.

The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,56,705 in India on February 25, 2021, with 138 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 80 in Maharashtra, 17 in Kerala, 7 in Punjab, 6 in Tamilnadu, 6 in Karnataka, 4 in Chhattisgarh,3 in Uttar Pradesh, 3 in West Bengal,  2 in Delhi, 2 in Madhya Pradesh, 1 in Jharkhand, and 1 in Bihar. India had recorded 104 new deaths on February 24, 2021.

The Covid-19 toll in India on February 25, 2021, was : Maharashtra (51,937), Tamilnadu (12,478), Karnataka (12,309), Delhi (10,905), Andhra Pradesh (7,168), Uttar Pradesh (8,721), West Bengal (10,256), Gujarat (4,407), Madhya Pradesh (3,857), Rajasthan (2,785),  Punjab (5,786), Telengana (1,630), J&K (1,955), Haryana (3,043), Bihar (1,538), Odisha (1,914), Jharkhand (1,087), Assam (1,091), Uttarakhand (1,690), Kerala (4,136), Chhattisgarh (3,813), Puducherry (666), Goa (789), Tripura (391), Chandigarh (351), Andaman & Nicobar (62), Himachal Pradesh (995), Ladakh (130), Manipur (373), Nagaland (91), Meghalaya (148), Arunachal Pradesh (56), Sikkim (135), Mizoram (10), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2).
