New Delhi : A total of 15,968 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally of cases recorded so far to 1,04,95,147 at 8 am on January 13, 2021. In contrast, 17,817 Covid-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in the country in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,01,29,111 on January 13, 2021, exceeding the number of active cases (2,14,507) by a massive margin of 99,14,604.
The active cases accounted for only 2.04% of the total cases (1,04,95,147 ) in India on January 13, 2021, a drop of 2,051 cases in last 24 hours. The country has tested 18,34,89,114 samples so far including 8,36,227 samples on January 12, 2021.
Of the 1,04,95,147 Covid-19 cases recorded in the country, altogether 1,01,29,111 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 96.51% on January 13, 2021, according Union Health Ministry figure.
The Covid-19 toll jumped to 1,51,529 on January 13, 2021, with 202 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 50 in Maharashtra, 25 in Kerala, 18 in West Bengal, 16 in Delhi, 12 in Chhattisgarh, 11 in Uttarakhand, 10 in Uttar Pradesh, 9 in Punjab, 8 in Tamilnadu, 8 in Haryana, 8 in Madhya Pradesh, 5 in Karnataka, 4 in Bihar, 3 in Gujarat, 3 in Rajasthan, and 2 in Andhra Pradesh. India had recorded 167 new deaths on January 12, 2021.
