Patna: Continuing its drive against organized crime and liquor mafias across the district, Patna Police on December 17 seized huge quantity of liquor including countrymade and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and arrested 17 persons in connection with different criminal cases.

As per a press communiqué issued here by the office of Patna Senior SP (SSP), Jakkanpur police on Saturday arrested two criminals from Karbigahiya bus stand involved in cases of cellphone snatching across Patna district. They were wanted in connection with over two dozen cases, police said. The arrests were made on a tip off.

A team of Danapur police station recovered 144 bottles of India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from the house of one Raju Kumar located at Kharanja road in New Mainpura locality. Raids were on to arrest him, police said.

Fatuha police arrested three persons and seized 12 bottles of IMFL from their possession. The arrested persons were bringing the liquor bottles in milk containers from Jethuli Ghat. They used to bring the liquor from Raghopur diara Vaishali district in milk  containers and sold it at much higher price.

Bhadaur police in rural Patna arrested an accused of a double murder case reported this year. The accused had murdered his grand-father and uncle in personal enmity and an FIR was lodged with the local police in this connection.

Kotwali police arrested two criminals including a native of Tamil Nadu involved in cases of theft and snatching of two-wheelers and purse. City Chowk police arrested seven persons in connection with an incident of arson there on December 16, 2016. Pipra police in rural Patna arrested one person and recovered 30 litre countrymade liquor from his possession.
