New Delhi : A total of 15,590 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,05,27,683 at 8 am on January 15, 2021. On the other hand, 15,975 Covid-19 patients were declared cured /discharged in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,01,62,738 on January 15, 2021, exceeding the number of active cases ( 2,13,027) by a huge margin of 99,49,711. The active cases accounted for only 2.02 % of the total Covid-19 cases recorded in India on January 15, 2021, a drop of 576 cases in last 24 hours.
Of the 1,05,27,683 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in the country, altogether 1,01,62,738 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 96.53%. India has tested 18,49,62,401 samples so far including 7,30,096 samples on January 14, 2021.
The Covid-19 toll increased to 1,51,918 in India on January 15, 2021, with 191 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 70 in Maharashtra, 19 in Kerala, 17 in West Bengal, 14 in Uttar Pradesh, 10 in Chhattisgarh, 10 in Punjab, 8 in Madhya Pradesh, 6 in Haryana, 4 in Delhi, 4 in Andhra Pradesh, 4 in Tamilnadu, 3 in Karnataka, 3 in Uttarakhand, 3 in Gujarat, 2 in Bihar, and 2 in Rajasthan. India had recorded 198 new deaths on January 14, 2021.
