New Delhi : New Covid-19 cases far exceeded the recoveries in India in last 24 hours for the fifth consecutive day on March 1, 2021. A total of 15,510 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,11,12,241 cases in the country at 8 am on March 1, 2021. On the other hand, only 11,288 patients were declared cured/ discharged in the country in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,07,86,457 on March 1, 2021, exceeding the number of active cases ( 1,68,627) by whopping margin of 1,06,17,830.
The active cases accounted for 1.52% of the total Covid-19 cases (1,11,12,241) recorded so far in the country on March 1, 2021, an increase of 4,116 cases in last 24 hours. Of the 1,11,12,241 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in the country, altogether 1,07,86,457 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) dropping to 97.07% from 97.10% on February 28, 2021. India has tested 21,68,58,774 samples so far including 6,27,668 samples on February 28, 2021. Meanwhile, a total of 1,43,01,266 Corona Warriors have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India so fa, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,57,157 in India on March 1, 2021, with 106 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 62 in Maharashtra, 15 in Kerala, 7 in Punjab, 5 in Karnataka, 3 in Tamilnadu, 2 in Chhattisgarh, 2 in West Bengal, 2 in Jharkhand, 1 in Delhi, 1 in Gujarat, 1 in Madhya Pradesh, and 1 in Haryana. India had recorded 113 new deaths on February 28, 2021. The case fatality rate dropped to 1.41% in the country on March 1, 2021.
