New Delhi : A total of 14,545 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,06,25,428 cases at 8 am on January 22, 2021. On the other hand, 18,002 patients were declared cured in last 24 hours in the country taking the tally to 1,02,83,708 on January 22, 2021, exceeding the number of active cases ( 1,88,688) by whopping margin of 1,00,95,020. The active cases accounted for just 1.78% of the total cases (1,06,25,428) on January 22, 2021, a drop of 3,620 cases in last 24 hours.

Of the 1,06,25,428 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in India, altogether 1,02,83,708 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 96.78%. India has tested 19,01,48,024 samples so far including 8,00,242 samples on January 21, 2021.

The Covid-19 toll jumped to 1,53,032 in India on January 22, 2021, with 163 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 52 in Maharashtra, 21 in Kerala, 15 in Punjab, 9 in Chhattisgarh, 9 in West Bengal, 9 in Tamilnadu, 8 in Delhi, 6 in Uttar Pradesh, 6 in Madhya Pradesh, 4 in Bihar, 3 in Haryana, 2 in Karnataaka, 1 in Gujarat, and 1 in Jharkhand.India had recorded 151 new deaths on January 21, 2021.

COVID-19 death toll in India on  January 22, 2021,  was : Maharashtra (50,634), Tamilnadu (12,299), Karnataka (12,187), Delhi (10,782), Andhra Pradesh (7,142), Uttar Pradesh (8,597), West Bengal (10,089), Gujarat (4,372), Madhya Pradesh (3,776), Rajasthan (2,756),  Punjab (5,535), Telengana (1,586), J&K (1,924), Haryana (3,000), Bihar (1,468), Odisha (1,03), Jharkhand (1,058), Assam (1,077), Uttarakhand (1,626), Kerala (3,545), Chhattisgarh (3,594), Puducherry (643), Goa (757), Tripura (391), Chandigarh (331), Andaman & Nicobar (62), Himachal Pradesh (970), Ladakh (129), Manipur (367), Nagaland (88), Meghalaya (146), Arunachal Pradesh (56), Sikkim (131), Mizoram (9), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2).
