New Delhi : A total of 14,256 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,06,39,684 cases in the country at 8 am on January 23, 2021. On the other hand, 17,130 Covid-19 patients were declared cured /discharged in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,03,00,838 on January 23, 2021, exceeding the number of active cases (1,85,662) by a gigantic margin of 1,01,15,176.
A total of 13,90,592 Corona Warriors have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India so far including 3,47,058 beneficiaries on January 22, 2021.
The active cases accounted for just 1.74% of the total cases (1,06,39,684) on January 23, 2021, a drop of 3,026 cases in last 24 hours. Of the 1,06,39,684 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in the country, altogether 1,03,00,838 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 96.82%. India has tested 19,09,85,119 samples so far including 8,37,095 samples on January 22, 2021.
The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,53,184 in India on January 23, 2021, with 152 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 50 in Maharashtra, 19 in Kerala, 8 in Punjab, 8 in West Bengal, 8 in Uttar Pradesh, 8 in Tamilnadu, 7 in Chhattisgarh, 7 in Delhi, 5 in Haryana, 4 in Bihar, 4 in Andhra Pradesh, 4 in Madhya Pradesh, 3 in Karnataka, 2 in Jharkhand, and 2 in Gujarat. India had recorded 163 new deaths on January 22, 2021.
