14 named accused in Parasgarh gang rape case still at large

Patna : Fourteen named accused in Parasagarh gang rape case under Ekma police station in Saran district in North Bihar are still at large due to terribly slow pace of police investigation into the case. SHO, Ekma police station on July 7, 2018, said that police were conducting raids to arrest the remaining accused.

A Class X girl of Visheshwar Vidya Niketan, Parasgarh, a private school, was gangraped at least twice during last 7 months the last time on July 4, 2018, by 18 persons including students, teachers, and Principal of the school. She was also blackmailed by them.

Despite majority of accused being locals, only 4 out of the 18 named accused have been arrested so far. Principal cum owner of the school Uday Kumar, Balaji, a school teacher, and two students : Rohit and Mohit, have been arrested so far. The results of the medical examination of the girl is still awaited. SP, Saran, could not be contacted over the phone on July 7 despite repeated attempts.
