Gopalganj: A police team of Kuchaikot police station in Gopalganj district intercepted an Alto car at Karmaini Chowk late on  December 3 night and seized 32 cartons of liquor from the vehicle. One person was arrested in this connection, said  Kuchaikot ps SHO Mahendra Kumar.

Police sources said that acting on information that huge quantity of liquor was being smuggled to Manjha (Gopalganj) from neighbouring Uttar Pradesh, a police team led by Kuchaikot ps SHO started searching vehicles at Karmaini Chowk. The police team intercepted an Alto car and seized 32 cartons having 1,395 bottles of countrymade liquor worth over Rs 2 lakh from the car. Police said that the arrested liquor trader was identified as Arun Giri, a native of village Baikunthpur Mathiya under Manjha police station of the district. Police said that Giri had bringing liquor from Uttar Pradesh regularly.
