New Delhi : Recoveries again outpaced the new Covid-19 cases recorded in India in last 24 hours. A total of 14,037 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,07,26,702 in the country at 8 am on February 24, 2021, exceeding the number of active cases (1,46,907)  by a massive margin of 1,05,79,795. On the other hand, 13,742 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the country in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,10,30,176 cases at 8 am on February 24, 2021.

The active cases accounted for 1.33% of the total cases (1,10,30,176) recorded on February 24, 2021, a drop of 399 cases in last 24 hours. India has tested 21,30,36,275 samples so far including 8,05,844 samples on February 23, 2021. Meanwhile,  1,21,65,598 frontine workers have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in the country so far including 4,20,046 beneficiaries on February 23, 2021. Of the 1,10,30,176 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in the country, altogether 1,07,26,702 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 97.25% on February 24.

Covid-19 toll jumped to 1,56,567 in India on February 24, 2021, with 104 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 51 in Maharashtra, 14 in Kerala, 10 in Punjab, 6 in Tamilnadu, 4 in Karnataka, 3 in Chhattisgarh, 2 in West Bengal, 2 in Uttar Pradesh, 2 in Delhi, and 1 in Bihar. India had recorded only 78 new deaths including 18 in Maharashtra on February 23, 2021.

The Covid-19 toll in India on February 24, 2021, was : Maharashtra (51,857), Tamilnadu (12,472), Karnataka (12,303), Delhi (10,903), Andhra Pradesh (7,168), Uttar Pradesh (8,718), West Bengal (10,253), Gujarat (4,406), Madhya Pradesh (3,855), Rajasthan (2,785),  Punjab (5,779), Telengana (1,629), J&K (1,955), Haryana (3,042), Bihar (1,537), Odisha (1,914), Jharkhand (1,086), Assam (1,091), Uttarakhand (1,690), Kerala (4,119), Chhattisgarh (3,809), Puducherry (665), Goa (788), Tripura (391), Chandigarh (350), Andaman & Nicobar (62), Himachal Pradesh (995), Ladakh (130), Manipur (373), Nagaland (91), Meghalaya (148), Arunachal Pradesh (56), Sikkim (135), Mizoram (10), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2).
