13 yr old girl crushed to death by van at Saharsa village

Saharsa : A 13 year old girl Lakho, daughter of Shankar Sah, was crushed to death at village Bela by a pick-up van en route Sihoula from Bihra Bazaar under Bihra police station (PS) in Saharsa district on April 20, 2017, evening. The driver fled the spot with the van after the accident.

Furious over the death of the girl, the locals blocked the Saharsa – Supaul road for hours. The pick up van fitted with DJ system crushed Lakho to death when she was trying to cross the road after hearing the DJ sound. SHO, Bihra PS, Sarwar Alam, reached the spot and tried to pacify the mob but they were insisting on the presence of Saharsa SP on the spot. Later, Block development officer (BDO), Sattarkataiyya block, Pawan Kumar Thakur, reached there and persuaded the people to lift the blockade.
