New Delhi : A total of 12,408 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,08,02,591 cases in the country at 8 am on February 5, 2021. On the other hand, 15,853 patients were declared cured / discharged in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,04,96,308 on February 5, 2021, exceeding the number of active cases (1,51,460) by a massive margin of 1,03,44,848.  The active cases accounted for just 1.40% of the total cases Covid -19 cases ( 1,08,02,591) on February 5, 2021, a drop of 3,565 cases in last 24 hours.

Of the 1,08,02,591 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in India, altogether 1,04,96,308 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 97.16% on February 5, 2021. India has tested 19,99,31,795 samples so far including 7,15,776 samples on February 4, 2021. Meanwhile, 49,59,445 Corona Warriors have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India so far including 5,09,893 beneficiaries on February 4, 2021, according to Union Health Ministry figure.

The Covid-19 toll increased to 1,54,823 in India on February 5, 2021, with 120 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 46 in Maharashtra, 17 in Kerala, 7 in Delhi, 7 in Punjab, 6 in Uttar Pradesh, 6 in Chhattisgarh, 4 in Tamilnadu, 4 in West Bengal, 4 in Uttarakhand, 2 in Haryana, 2 in Karnataka, 2 in J&K, 2 in Madhya Pradesh,  1 in Gujarat, and 1 in Rajasthan. India had recorded 107 new deaths on February 4, 2021.

COVID-19 toll in India on February 5, 2021, was : Maharashtra (51,215), Tamilnadu (12,375), Karnataka (12,227), Delhi (10,871), Andhra Pradesh (7,157), Uttar Pradesh (8,680), West Bengal (10,199), Gujarat (4,392), Madhya Pradesh (3,818), Rajasthan (2,771),  Punjab (5,635), Telengana (1,607), J&K (1,943), Haryana (3,026), Bihar (1,510), Odisha (1,907), Jharkhand (1,077), Assam (1,084), Uttarakhand (1,659), Kerala (3,813), Chhattisgarh (3,724), Puducherry (652), Goa (770), Tripura (391), Chandigarh (337), Andaman & Nicobar (62), Himachal Pradesh (982), Ladakh (130), Manipur (372), Nagaland (88), Meghalaya (147), Arunachal Pradesh (56), Sikkim (135), Mizoram (9), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2).
