New Delhi : After a gap of several days, new Covid-19 cases outpaced the recoveries in India on February 7, 2021. India recorded 12,059 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,08,26,363 cases at 8 am on February 7, 2021. In sharp contrast, only 11,805 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in last 24 hours in the country taking the tally to 1,05,22,601 exceeding the number of active cases (1,48,766) by a huge margin of 1,03,73,835 on February 7, 2021.

The active cases accounted for just 1.37% of the total cases (1,08,26,363) on February 7, 2021, a drop of 176 cases in last 24 hours. India has tested 20,13,68,378 samples so far including 6,95,789 samples on February 6, 2021. Meanwhile, 57,75,322 healthcare workers have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in the  country so far including 3,58,473 beneficiaries on February 6, 2021, according to  Union Health Ministry figure.

Of the 1,08,26,363 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in India, altogether 1,05,22,601 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 97.19%.

The Covid-19 toll increased to 1,54,996 in India on February 7, 2021, with 78 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 25 in Maharashtra, 16 in Kerala, 5 in Punjab, 4 in Uttar Pradesh, 4 in Delhi, 3 in Chhattisgarh, 3 in Tamilnadu, 3 in Karnataka, 3 in Bihar, and 2 in Uttarakhand. India had recorded 95 new deaths on February 6, 2021.

COVID-19 toll in India on February 7, 2021, was : Maharashtra (51,280), Tamilnadu (12,382), Karnataka (12,233), Delhi (10,877), Andhra Pradesh (7,159), Uttar Pradesh (8,686), West Bengal (10,202), Gujarat (4,394), Madhya Pradesh (3,820), Rajasthan (2,772),  Punjab (5,640), Telengana (1,610), J&K (1,944), Haryana (3,027), Bihar (1,515), Odisha (1,909), Jharkhand (1,077), Assam (1,084), Uttarakhand (1,664), Kerala (3,848), Chhattisgarh (3,735), Puducherry (654), Goa (770), Tripura (391), Chandigarh (339), Andaman & Nicobar (62), Himachal Pradesh (983), Ladakh (130), Manipur (372), Nagaland (88), Meghalaya (147), Arunachal Pradesh (56), Sikkim (135), Mizoram (9), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2).
