New Delhi : A total of 11,666 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,07,01,193 cases in the country at 8 am on January 28, 2021. In sharp contrast, 14,301 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,03,73,606 on January 28, 2021, exceeding the number of active cases ( 1,73,740) by a stupendous margin of 1,01,99,866. The active cases accounted for just 1.62% of the total cases ( 1,07,01,193) on January 28, 2021, a drop of 2,758 cases in last 24 hours.
Of the 1,07,01,193 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in India, altogether 1,03,73,606 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 96.94% on January 28, 2021. India has tested 19,43,38,773 samples so far including 7,25,653 samples on January 27, 2021. Meanwhile, 23,55,979 Corona Warriors were vaccinated against Covid-19 so far in India including 3,26,499 beneficiaries on January 27, 2021, according to Union Health Ministry data.
The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,53,847 on January 28, 2021, in India with 123 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 32 in Maharashtra, 20 in Kerala, 10 in Punjab, 9 in Delhi, 8 in West Bengal, 8 in Tamilnadu, 6 in Madhya Pradesh, 4 in Bihar, 4 in Uttar Pradesh, 3 in Chhattisgarh, 3 in Uttarakhand, 3 in Karnataka, 2 in Andhra Pradesh, 2 in Jharkhand, 1 in Gujarat, and 1 in Rajasthan. India had recorded 137 new deaths on January 27, 2021.
