New Delhi : The number of Coronavirus (COVID-19) patients getting cured rose to 1,14,072 in India at 8 am on June 6, 2020, an increase of 4,611 in last 24 hours. But, the COVID-19 death toll too has jumped to 6,642 in the country with 294 new deaths being reported from different parts of the country since June 5, a big leap. The number of active cases stands at 1,15,942.

Maharashtra alone accounts for 2,849 Coronavirus deaths followed by Gujarat with 1,190 deaths and Delhi with 708 deaths. Incidentally, 35,156 Coronavirus patients have been cured in Maharashtra followed by 15,762 in Tamilnadu, 13,003 in Gujarat, 10,315 in Delhi, 7,359 in Rajasthan, and 5,878 in MP. In Bihar, 2,225 patients have been cured. In Jharkhand, 410 patients got cured.The recovery rate was 48.27% amongst COVID-19 patients till June 5 night. The number of government labs now stands increased to 507 and private labs at to 217 (a total of 727 labs).

Coronavirus death toll break-up is : Maharashtra (2,849), Gujarat (1,190), Delhi (708), Madhya Pradesh (384), West Bengal (366), Uttar Pradesh (257), Tamilnadu (232), Rajasthan (218), Telengana (113), Andhra Pradesh (73), Karnataka (57), Punjab (48), J&K(38), Bihar (29), Haryana (24), Kerala (14), Uttarakhand (11), Odisha (8), Jharkhand (7), Himachal Pradesh (5), Chandigarh (5), Assam (4), Chhattisgarh (2), Ladakh (1), and Meghalaya (1). Maharashtra reported 139 new deaths during last 24 hours.

As of June 5, 2020, the COVID related health infrastructure has been strengthened with the availability of 957 dedicated COVID hospitals with 1,66,460 Isolation beds, 21,473 ICU beds, and 72,497 Oxygen supported beds. A total of 2,362 dedicated COVID Health Centres with 1,32,593 Isolation beds; 10,903 ICU beds and 45,562 Oxygen supported beds have also been operationalised, according to a PIB release.
