Ara : Sleuths of Prohibition & Excise Department, on a tip off, seized 474 cartons of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) loaded in a truck and also arrested its driver and the khalasi on May 10, 2019.

Durgesh Kumar, Excise Superintendent, Bhojpur, said that he got information that a big consignment of IMFL was being smuggled from Haryana to Ara via Chhapra after which he along with police force immediately conducted raids and seized the truck near Rounak Line Hotel at village Babura under Barhara police station on May 10.

When the truck was searched, 11,268 bottles of IMFL packed in 474 cartons were seized. Kumar  said that a named FIR has been lodged with Barhara police station in this connection against the arrested persons under the Prohibition & Excise Act. They would be sent to jail after interrogation, he said.
