10 killed, 5 injured in Vaishali accident

Hajipur : Ten persons were killed and five others injured in a head on collision between an autorickshaw and a bus near  Purani Bazaar on NH 77, which links Hajipur with Muzaffarpur, under Sarai police station in Vaishali district on July 18, 2017. The deceased were travelling by the auto.

The auto was going to Hajipur from Goraul in Vaishali district while the bus was going to Muzaffarpur from Hajipur, headquarters of Vaishali district. Vaishali SP Rakesh Kumar and cops from Sarai police station soon reached the place of occurrence. The incident resulted in traffic jam on NH 77.

Vaishali SP Rakesh Kumar said the auto was carrying 15 passengers of which ten including the driver were killed while others were injured. The bus driver fled away after the accident, the SP said. Police sized both the vehicles.
