Ara : An inmate of Ambedkar Hostel Yogesh Kumar was injured in a clash between two groups of students in Maula Bagh locality under Nawada police station, Ara, on December 24, 2018, afternoon, even as police force was deputed at S B College examination centre located near the hostel. The injured was admitted to Sadar Hospital, Ara, but the doctors there referred him to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in view of his serious condition. Eve teasing is said to be the reason behind the incident.

SHO, Nawada police station, said that after the BA part II examination in the first sitting was over at S B College, Maula Bagh, under Nawada police station, two groups of students clashed and assaulted each other. They also pelted each other with stones. Meanwhile, someone fired two rounds in which an inmate of the Ambedkar Hostel received bullet injury and was admitted to the Sadar Hospital.

In protest against the incident, the inmates of Abkedkar Hostel blocked Pakari Road roundabout raising slogans against the district administration. They paralysed movement of vehicles for about an hour and demanded immediate arrest of the miscreants. The inmates also went on rampage and damaged several makeshift shops and motorcycles on the road. The blockade was lifted after positive response from police officials.

The SHO said that Yogesh Kumar, son of Jai Bhagwan Ram of village Belwayi under Dinara police station in Rohtas district,  lives at Ambedkar Hostel and is a student of Tapeshwar Singh B.Ed College at Harigaon.
